{"id":77418,"date":"2025-08-17T23:17:26","date_gmt":"2025-08-17T23:17:26","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/ca\/77418\/"},"modified":"2025-08-17T23:17:26","modified_gmt":"2025-08-17T23:17:26","slug":"karachi-police-arrest-dha-woman-for-allegedly-murdering-her-two-young-children-pakistan","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/ca\/77418\/","title":{"rendered":"Karachi police arrest DHA woman for allegedly murdering her two young children &#8211; Pakistan"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>The Karachi police arrested a 37-year-old woman on Thursday who allegedly slaughtered her two young children in Defence Housing Authority (DHA).<\/p>\n<p>\u201cA lady killed her two children, who were eight and four years old, with a sharp knife due to a marital issue with her husband,\u201d South Deputy Inspector General (DIG) Syed Asad Raza told Dawn.com, adding that police arrested the suspect and seized the murder weapon.<\/p>\n<p>He added that the children\u2019s bodies were recovered from a house on 10th Street off Khayaban-i-Mujahid with their throats slit.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThe suspect sent pictures to her ex-husband after killing the children,\u201d he said, adding that the father then called the police. However, both children were found murdered when Darakhshan police arrived at the residence.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThe bodies were taken to Jinnah Postgraduate Medical Centre for legal formalities,\u201d DIG Raza said.<\/p>\n<p>Police surgeon Dr Summaiya Syed told Dawn.com that the children\u2019s throats were slit, which damaged vital structures and vessels in the neck, leading to their death. \u201cSwabs have also been collected to rule out sexual violence,\u201d she added.<\/p>\n<p>A passerby told Dawn.com that a large group of police personnel, media persons and an ambulance were gathered outside the residence earlier today.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cI passed by a house and there were loads of cops, an Edhi ambulance and a DSNG of some channel \u2026 on the road that leads to Bahria,\u201d she said.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cOn the way back, there was one cameraman and another person still there. I asked them what happened. They said some woman murdered her two small children, had a mental disorder and was getting divorced or something.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>DIG Raza said that the suspect and her husband divorced last year. \u201cThe custody of the children was contested in court, which ruled in favour of the father,\u201d he stated. \u201cHowever, the mother was allowed to meet her children.
