Roughriders Head Coach Corey Mace told reporters<\/a> after Wednesday\u2019s practice at Mosaic Stadium.<\/p>\n\u201cIt\u2019s good that we\u2019ve got another day to figure that out (before declaring the final roster), but whoever we end up putting out there, we have full trust.\u201d<\/p>\n
The names of six receivers have appeared on the Roughriders\u2019 injury list this week: Samuel Emilus (ankle), Kian Schaffer-Baker (oblique), Jaylen Johnson (shoulder), Dhel Duncan-Busby (shoulder), James Letcher Jr. (elbow) and Dylan Djete (quadriceps).<\/p>\n
Emilus and Schaffer-Baker were both injured in last Friday\u2019s matchup with the Toronto Argonauts at Mosaic Stadium. Neither player practised on Monday before being listed as limited for Tuesday\u2019s workout and as a full participant on Wednesday.<\/p>\n
As for game status, Emilus is questionable. Schaffer-Baker is listed as available.<\/p>\n
Duncan-Busby, who missed the past two games, did not practise on Monday but was a full participant on Tuesday and Wednesday. He is available for Friday\u2019s game.<\/p>\n
Johnson, who has started Saskatchewan\u2019s first three games this season, was a full participant on Tuesday and Wednesday after sitting out Monday\u2019s workout. He is listed as out for Friday.<\/p>\n
Letcher Jr., the Roughriders\u2019 principal returner, was injured early in the Toronto game. He has not practised this week and will not play on Friday. His spot will likely be taken by newcomer Mathew Sexton.<\/p>\n
Djete, who was chosen by Saskatchewan in the second round of the 2026 CFL Canadian Draft, has been a limited participant in practice throughout this week. Before that, he had been sidelined by a quadriceps injury since training camp. He will not play on Friday.<\/p>\n
KeeSean Johnson and D\u2019Sean Mimbs are the only members of last week\u2019s starting receiving corps who have not appeared on the injury list this week.<\/p>\n
Injury-related flux in the receiving corps is hardly novel for the Roughriders.<\/p>\n
\u201cLast year, we lost Sam and Schaff for the whole season, essentially,\u201d said Roughriders quarterback Trevor Harris, the 2025 Grey Cup MVP. \u201cSam played seven games. Schaff played, essentially, two and wasn\u2019t really super-healthy for the games he played. Dohnte (Meyers, now of the NFL\u2019s Cincinnati Bengals) missed the end of the (regular season). KeeSean missed the last four games.<\/p>\n
\u201cIt\u2019s not like it\u2019s something new for us. It\u2019s not, \u2018Oh no! What do we do?\u2019 \u201d<\/p>\n
Defensive back Nelson Lokombo, who sat out back-to-back games with an ankle injury, practised full-out on Wednesday after being limited for the previous two days. He is available for the Ottawa game.<\/p>\n
Running back A.J. Ouellette (ankle) is questionable after being limited in practice for all three days this week. The two-time 1,000-yard rusher missed last Friday\u2019s game.<\/p>\n
