It was looking good for a while for NASCAR’s Tyler Reddick on Sunday \u2014 until it wasn’t.<\/p>\n

After winning an early stage at yesterday’s Cook Out 400, the 23XI driver<\/a> appeared to be in contention for his first victory of the 2025 Cup Series season in Richmond. However, a spinout and caution flag all but ended those hopes and led to a P34 finish.<\/p>\n

Reddick, a 29-year-old California native, was the sport’s regular season champion<\/a> last year and twice won the Xfinity Series in 2018 and ’19. And even though it was contact from Ty Gibbs that ultimately led to him falling several laps behind, the veteran wheelman assigned blame to a different one of his NASCAR rivals.<\/p>\n

Reddick wasn’t afraid to point the finger after the race. Despite his aforementioned bump with Gibbs, the No. 45 Toyota made sure to let reporters know that driver Daniel Su\u00e1rez was the culprit who got everything started.<\/p>\n

Suarez and his team<\/a> got impatient and made a push on Gibbs when maybe there wasn’t one and it resulted in the No. 54 getting into the back of Reddick’s Camry XSE. Speaking to Racer.com’s Kelly Crandall, Tyler was definitely frustrated by the sequence of events.<\/p>\n

Reddick can ‘thank’ Daniel Su\u00e1rez<\/p>\n

“Daniel just got impatient and knocked the 54 out of the way, and that’s what took us out,” Reddick said<\/a>. “Unfortunately, I had a feeling that was going to happen and I was just hoping more respect was going to be given. He went in there, and he moved the 54. I don’t know if he meant for it to wreck me, but nonetheless, I feel like time and time again, Daniel has done that type of thing.”<\/p>\n

“It was pretty much worst-case scenario for us,” he continued. “When you have a Toyota Camry as fast as ours is, you need to score points. The 48 scored a lot of points, and the 3 won. So, all in all, it was pretty much worst-case scenario. Yeah, we can thank Daniel Su\u00e1rez for that.”<\/p>\n

Su\u00e1rez ended up earning his fifth top-10 finish of the ’25 campaign with his P7 result at Richmond Raceway, but he may have a proverbial target on his back after this latest incident with Reddick and the 23XI team.<\/p>\n
