The rookie American Cadillac F1 Team will run a special red, white and blue \u201cStars and Stripes\u201d livery at this weekend\u2019s British Grand Prix to mark the United States\u2019 250th anniversary.<\/p>\n

The American outfit has revealed a one-off patriotic design for Silverstone<\/a>, timed to coincide with the Fourth of July weekend. Saturday\u2019s Sprint and Grand Prix qualifying sessions fall on July 4 \u2014 America\u2019s 250th birthday \u2014 giving Cadillac the perfect opportunity to celebrate its national identity at the circuit that hosted the first Formula 1 World Championship race in 1950.<\/p>\n

Both cars will carry a full-color Stars and Stripes theme, replacing the team\u2019s usual colors with bold red, white and blue. The patriotic look will also be extended across the garage, driver helmets and team kit.<\/p>\n

\u201cThe 4th of July weekend is a moment for us to show our continued pride in representing the United States on the global stage of F1,\u201d said Cadillac CEO Dan Towriss. \u201cWe want to use it as an opportunity to allow new communities to discover the sport and share our passion.\u201d<\/p>\n

The Silverstone weekend follows a tough Austrian Grand Prix, where both Sergio P\u00e9rez and Valtteri Bottas retired with brake issues before the end of lap five. It was the team\u2019s first double retirement of the season and left Cadillac still pointless after eight races.<\/p>\n

Team principal Graeme Lowdon acknowledged the setback but pointed to encouraging signs from the team\u2019s recent upgrade package.<\/p>\n

\u201cThe Austrian Grand Prix was a challenge for us \u2014 but there is not one team in the pitlane that hasn\u2019t had similar days,\u201d Lowdon said. \u201cWe have been working incredibly hard to rectify the issues. We have seen that the upgrades brought to Spielberg were positive, and our objective in Silverstone is to ensure we have a clean weekend to maximize the performance potential we see.<\/p>\n

\u201cWe appreciate it\u2019s a big task \u2014 especially coming so soon after Austria \u2014 but we will take every opportunity to learn, move forward and continue our progress as a team.\u201d<\/p>\n

Both Cadillac drivers arrive at Silverstone with strong records at the circuit. Bottas has taken two poles and five podiums from 14 F1 appearances there, while P\u00e9rez set the fastest lap in 2021 and finished second in 2022.<\/p>\n

Cadillac becomes the third team to run a special livery at the British Grand Prix, joining McLaren and Williams.<\/p>\n
