Vote now to help choose the top 13 photographs from a Downtown Eastside community photography initiative that will appear in the 2027 Hope in Shadows calendar.<\/p>\n

Hope in Shadows Voting Open Now<\/p>\n

For the past 24 years, the\u00a0Hope in Shadows\u00a0photography contest has invited Megaphone<\/a> vendors, storytellers and Downtown Eastside community members to capture their communities through the lens of a single-use camera.\u00a0<\/p>\n

This year, more than 70 participants submitted over 1,000 photographs exploring the theme of\u00a0Work, celebrating the many forms labour can take \u2014 from paid employment and caregiving, to volunteering, advocacy, artistic practice and the countless ways people contribute to their communities.\u00a0<\/p>\n

The Community Jury and Megaphone staff have narrowed the submissions down to\u00a030 finalists. From now until July 31st you can now vote<\/a> for the top 13 that will appear in the calendar.<\/p>\n
