Some participants were able to get paid after threatening to go to the press about the situation, according to messages viewed by Awful Announcing.<\/p>\n
\u201cI tried multiple avenues to get in touch with him, and it was just crickets,\u201d one anonymous participant said. \u201cOnly when someone posted people\u2019s contact information at ESPN in the Reddit thread, and I emailed him with some of them CC\u2019d, did a payment come through. <\/p>\n
\u201cA lot of people are in that boat where they only got paid after the Reddit thread blew up, and you included ESPN people in your emails to him. Clearly, he could pay, but just thought he could ignore you.\u201d<\/p>\n

Miller allegedly was the commissioner of 91 fantasy leagues in 2025 on\u00a0fantasy website Sleeper, per a profile believed to be his on the platform.<\/p>\n
He also posted about the leagues on social media, as seen in screenshots by Awful Announcing.<\/p>\n
Half the leagues\u2019 entry fees would go to charity, while the other half would go to the top finishers.\u00a0<\/p>\n
Miller claimed he lost access to his Sleeper account, as well as various email and social media accounts and therefore did not see messages about payment requests, according to screenshots reviewed by Awful Announcing.<\/p>\n

In other instances, some people alleged that they paid Miller for scouting lessons and classes, and he was difficult to reach and did not fulfill the agreement he advertised. One instance occurred near the end of Miller\u2019s tenure at Bleacher Report from 2010 to 2021.<\/p>\n
Miller, who remains hospitalized after a crash with a semi-truck,\u00a0has yet to address the situation publicly.<\/p>\n
He was ejected from his vehicle and airlifted to a hospital with life-threatening injuries, according to a GoFundMe page that was set up by his sister-in-law. <\/p>\n
Miller\u00a0suffered a compound fracture of his left femur, a shattered left kneecap, multiple broken ribs, and lost a significant amount of blood, and had multiple surgeries in the accident. <\/p>\n
