Taylor Swift<\/a> and Travis Kelce<\/a> are officially wed. The couple hosted their wedding celebration on Friday in New York City, nearly three years after first meeting.<\/p>\n

The ceremony was officiated by Adam Sandler, a Swift spokesperson said in a Friday statement confirming the nuptials.<\/p>\n

Swift\u2019s brother, Austin, served as her \u201cman of Honor,\u201d while Kelce\u2019s brother, NFL veteran Jason Kelce, was best man. The couple otherwise did not have bridesmaids or groomsmen.<\/p>\n

The wedding was held at Madison Square Garden in midtown Manhattan, where screens outside the venue displayed a celebratory message about 7.20pm local time: \u201cJUST&T MARRIED!\u201d<\/p>\n

According to Swift\u2019s spokesperson, both Swift and Kelce wore Christian Dior couture designed by Jonathan Anderson. Swift also wore Cartier jewellery and Christian Louboutin shoes. Louboutin also designed most of the shoes Swift wore on her worldwide Eras Tour.<\/p>\n

There was a frenzy of activity<\/a> around the arena on Friday. An array of celebrities were seen en route to the venue in formal wear, including pop singer Ed Sheeran, model Gigi Hadid, actor and writer Lena Dunham, actors Hugh Grant, Bradley Cooper and Ethan Hawke, frequent Swift producer Jack Antonoff and NFL stars Cooper Kupp and JuJu Smith-Schuster.<\/p>\n

Also spotted were close members of Swift\u2019s inner circle, including longtime publicist Tree Paine and childhood best friend Abigail Anderson Berard.<\/p>\n

Stevie Nicks, whom Swift has cited as a mentor, was reportedly slated to perform at the celebration.<\/p>\n

Permits obtained by various media outlets ahead of the wedding indicated as many as 1,000 guests were in attendance. Phones have reportedly been banned in the venue.<\/p>\n

Security was tight around the arena in the lead-up to the wedding, with many nearby streets closed to vehicular traffic. Nevertheless, hordes of fans gathered as close as they could to the venue, braving sweltering heat to have a glimpse at what has been described as \u201cAmerica\u2019s royal wedding\u201d.<\/p>\n

\u201cIt\u2019s a nice that she is doing it here and connecting with her life in New York because it\u2019s so special to her,\u201d Gray O\u2019Sullivan, an 18-year-old fan, told the Guardian<\/a> on Friday.<\/p>\n

Even the Empire State Building was getting in on the celebration: the iconic skyscraper will be illuminated in \u201clight blue sparkle\u201d to honor the occasion.<\/p>\n

Prior to the wedding, rumors had long been swirling about the exact timing and location of the pair\u2019s nuptials. TMZ previously reported that the wedding would take place at the historic venue in early June, highlighting the specific safety features the venue has in place that could keep the venue secure.<\/p>\n

Swift and Kelce kept relatively quiet on their wedding plans in the months leading up to their nuptials. During an appearance on The Graham Norton Show in support of 2025\u2019s The Life of a Showgirl<\/a>, she jokingly invited the talkshow host and said she was aiming for a big invite list in order to avoid making tough decisions about who to cut.<\/p>\n

The superstar couple first connected in 2023. The Kansas City Chiefs tight end had attended Swift\u2019s show at his team\u2019s home base, Arrowhead Stadium, on 8 July 2023 but the pair did not meet at the show. He spoke about his disappointment on his podcast New Heights, which he hosts with his brother, now-retired Philadelphia Eagles center Jason Kelce.<\/p>\n

\u201cI was disappointed that she doesn\u2019t talk before or after her shows because she has to save her voice for the 44 songs that she sings,\u201d he said at the time. Kelce had made Swift a friendship bracelet<\/a>, something her fans had been making and trading throughout her historic<\/a> Eras Tour.<\/p>\n

In her Disney+ documentary The End of an Era<\/a>, a candid conversation with her mother revealed that Andrea Swift had not only encouraged but set up the meeting after seeing Kelce\u2019s podcast clip go viral.<\/p>\n

\u201cI\u2019m looking at the headlines and perusing around on the internet and I see that this guy came to your show and he brought a friendship bracelet and wants to meet you,\u201d Swift\u2019s mom said in the documentary. \u201cSo I call up my resident expert on the Kansas City Chiefs, my cousin Robin, and I go, \u2018Tell me about this guy named Travis Kelce<\/a>.\u2019\u201d<\/p>\n

\u201cYou said something to the effect of, \u2018You gotta start doing something different,\u2019\u201d the pop star recalled of the initial conversation with her mom. Later, in an interview with Time magazine<\/a>, Swift revealed that the two had quietly met shortly after he attended her show and began their courtship<\/a> out of the public eye.<\/p>\n

In September 2023, Swift would return to Arrowhead to attend one of Kelce\u2019s games. The pair were spotted leaving the stadium together in his convertible. The two would soon become regular fixtures<\/a> in stadium crowds for one another, often sitting with each other\u2019s parents at her shows and his games.<\/p>\n

They would notably make the biggest and most public declaration of their love after the Chiefs won<\/a> the Super Bowl on 11 February 2024, when Swift joined<\/a> Kelce on the field after.<\/p>\n

Two months later, the Grammy-winning singer-songwriter released The Tortured Poets Department<\/a>. While the album mostly unpacked a pair of breakups she had experienced prior to meeting Kelce, she had included a pair of love songs about Kelce loaded with football references. \u201cAre you gonna marry, kiss or kill me?\u201d she sang on So High School, referencing a viral video<\/a> of Kelce choosing to \u201ckiss\u201d Swift while playing the game during a 2016 interview, which resurfaced during their early courtship.<\/p>\n

In June 2024, Kelce joined Swift on stage at Wembley Stadium for one of her Eras shows, joining the dancers during a segment where they \u201crevive\u201d her to perform I Can Do It With a Broken Heart. It was the first time Swift ever had a partner join her on stage at one of her concerts. In August 2025, she would announce The Life of a Showgirl on Kelce\u2019s podcast<\/a>.<\/p>\n

Not long after her New Heights appearance, Swift and Kelce announced<\/a> their engagement<\/a>. \u201cYour English teacher and your gym teacher are getting married,\u201d she wrote in a caption of a photo carousel featuring the two posing in the middle of their flower-filled yard.<\/p>\n
