{"id":779052,"date":"2026-07-04T04:16:12","date_gmt":"2026-07-04T04:16:12","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/ca\/779052\/"},"modified":"2026-07-04T04:16:12","modified_gmt":"2026-07-04T04:16:12","slug":"watch-canada-fight-to-stay-in-world-cup-with-watch-party-in-brampton","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/ca\/779052\/","title":{"rendered":"Watch Canada fight to stay in World Cup with watch party in Brampton"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Canada\u2019s World Cup team will once again take the field this weekend, and you can watch Brampton\u2019s soccer heroes in their hometown at a watch party in Brampton.<\/p>\n<p>Canada\u2019s team has had a historic run in this year\u2019s tournament, including a game-tying goal by Brampton\u2019s Cyle Larin against Bosnia-Herzegovina that pushed Canada to its first-ever point in a World Cup match.<\/p>\n<p>The team faces a do-or-die match against Morocco on Saturday, and the city is hosting a watch party in Garden Square starting at 1 p.m. with soccer-inspired programming, fan experiences and community activities.<\/p>\n<p>Players with Brampton roots make up a solid portion of Canada\u2019s team in the 2026 tournament, including Tajon Buchanan, Liam Millar, Jonathan Osorio, Promise David and Jayden Nelson \u2013 who was a late addition to Canada\u2019s roster as a replacement for injured midfielder Marcelo Flores.<\/p>\n<p>Sigma FC is based in neighbouring Mississauga, but has developed many players from Brampton, including Larin.
