Police have suspended the license of a driver from Brampton after a rollover crash and registering an alert on a breathalyzer.<\/p>\n
The crash happened around 5:30 p.m. on Thursday when the OPP says officers were called to Wellington Road 34 in Puslinch Township, approximately 14 kilometres south of Guelph.<\/p>\n
Police say a single vehicle was involved in the rollover collision, and that officers were suspicious that the driver may have consumed alcohol.<\/p>\n
Officers demanded the driver provide a breath sample into a screening device, and say the driver registered a warning \u201calert.\u201d<\/p>\n
The OPP says the 35-year-old driver from Brampton was charged with careless driving and hit with a seven-day driver\u2019s licence suspension. The name of the accused, who is scheduled to appear in court on Oct. 6, has not been released.<\/p>\n
In 2024, police began mandatory alcohol screening on GTA highways, including the QEW and Highways 403 and 401. The OPP says anyone who witnesses a suspected impaired or unsafe driver can report it to police by calling 911 when it is safe to do so.<\/p>\n
