Oasis<\/a> have shared the first trailer for their \u201clandmark\u201d new Steven Knight-directed documentary, telling the story of their reunion and comeback tour.<\/p>\n

Today (Saturday July 4) marks the one year anniversary since the mammoth and acclaimed Live \u201925 tour kicked off in Cardiff<\/a>, and now the first glimpse of the film has been shared.<\/p>\n

Titled Don\u2019t Look Back In Anger, it will be released in cinemas and on IMAX on September 11, and in this first teaser, we see glimpses of Noel<\/a> and Liam Gallagher<\/a> in a rehearsal space interspersed with audio clips of interviews with them both, as well as euphoric crowd shots from the eventual shows.<\/p>\n

\u201cI just don\u2019t see myself on stage with Liam, I just don\u2019t see it,\u201d Noel says in one clip recorded before the first Cardiff show.<\/p>\n

\u201cThe way it finished\u2026unacceptable,\u201d says Liam.<\/p>\n

Peaky Blinders<\/a> creator Knight has overseen and is producing the film, which has been directed by Dylan Southern and Will Lovelace, known for the LCD Soundsystem<\/a>\u00a0doc\u00a0Shut Up\u00a0And\u00a0Play\u00a0The\u00a0Hits.<\/p>\n

The documentary will be released into cinemas, including IMAX screens, worldwide for a limited theatrical run from September 11<\/a>, while it will stream on Disney+ around the world, and on Disney+ alongside Hulu in the US, from a later date in 2026.<\/p>\n

It will chart\u00a0Noel<\/a>\u00a0and\u00a0Liam Gallagher<\/a>\u2019s return to the frontline, including exclusive footage of rehearsals, backstage insights, onstage access and the first joint interviews with the two brothers in over 25 years. It will also reflect on the impact of the enormous tour and how Oasis\u2019 music has impacted audiences across the generations.<\/p>\n

Knight has said: \u201cThe Oasis world tour united generations, cultures and countries and spoke to a broken world about reconciliation. Don\u2019t Look Back\u00a0In Anger is not only your ticket to the show \u2013 it\u2019s a backstage pass and a seat at the table when Liam and Noel sit down together for the first time in 15 years and tell it how it is and how it was.\u201d\u00a0<\/p>\n

It follows previous comments from Knight. \u201cI genuinely cannot wait for the world to see this film. I believe it captures the spirit and emotion of a global cultural moment and does justice to the wit and genius of two exceptional people,\u201d he said. \u201cI wanted to tell the story of the brothers and the band, but just as important, the story of the fans whose lives the music has touched and sometimes changed forever. It is also the story of how music and songwriting can unite generations, cultures, countries and in a time of spite and division, give us all some reason to hope.\u201d<\/p>\n

According to reports,\u00a0the project will contain some \u201cphenomenal\u201d footage of Liam and Noel Gallagher\u2019s first meeting ahead of their comeback shows<\/a>.<\/p>\n<\/p>\n

Knight hinted earlier this year that his cut of the movie at the time was still four hours long<\/a>, stressing that \u201cwe\u2019ve\u00a0gotta\u00a0get it down\u201d,\u00a0adding: \u201cBut\u00a0it\u2019s\u00a0a documentary with a plot, do you know what I mean?\u00a0It\u2019s\u00a0actually got a story. And then\u00a0we\u2019ve\u00a0expanded it\u2026you\u2019ll\u00a0see when you see it.\u201d<\/p>\n

Noel Gallagher recently spoke about the documentary<\/a>, too, saying: \u201cI\u2019ve\u00a0only seen a tiny little bit of it and\u00a0it\u2019s\u00a0difficult to have an opinion on it because\u00a0I\u2019m\u00a0only looking at little snippets.<\/p>\n

NME\u00a0gave the opening night of Live \u201925 in Cardiff a glowing five-star review<\/a>. \u201cAfter a \u201890s heyday and an\u00a0often maligned\u00a0post-millennium era, this is Oasis redesigned for the 21st Century,\u201d it read. \u201cPlaying before a pop-art-meets-psychedelia visual spectacular that never distracts but will look sick on a phone, they seem the quintessential stadium band playing the greatest hits of greatest hits.\u201d<\/p>\n<\/p>\n

In February,\u00a0Noel revealed he was back in the recording studio<\/a>. However, it is currently not known whether this was for new Oasis music or something else.\u00a0The musician had said earlier that he was \u201cback at work\u201d<\/a> following his Christmas break. Meanwhile, Liam has repeatedly pointed to the band touring again in 2027<\/a>, even telling Italian fans that they will \u201c100 per cent\u201d be performing in Rome<\/a> next year.
