The project will see through the construction of 158 turbines at Ocean Lake and it will take about five years. <\/p>\n<p>Once it is up and running, the turbines will generate around 1,264 megawatts of clean electricity \u2014 enough to power around 400,000 homes. <\/p>\n<p>It will also reduce Nova Scotia\u2019s annual greenhouse gas emissions so much so that it is comparable to taking 420,000 gas-powered cars off the road, or in technical terms, will save 1.94 million tonnes of emissions. <\/p>\n<p>This project is expected to create between 400 and 500 construction jobs, with another 40 to 50 people hired for operations. It will likely generate about $11 million in annual tax revenue for the Municipality of the District of Guysborough. <\/p>\n<p>The project must comply with 61 terms and conditions designed to protect the environment and human health.
