The Xiaomi 12 series, Poco X5 series, and select Redmi models have now been added to Xiaomi’s End-of-Life (EOL) list, meaning they will no longer receive Android or HyperOS updates, new features, bug fixes, or future security patches.

In any case, some of these devices had already stopped receiving major OS updates as per Xiaomi’s promised update policy. While they’ll continue to work normally, Xiaomi is unlikely to fix newly discovered security vulnerabilities or roll out any performance improvements, so upgrading should be in the cards if your device is on the list.

Speaking of which, the latest additions include the Xiaomi 12, Xiaomi 12 Pro, and Xiaomi 12S Ultra (China), along with the Xiaomi Pad 6 (China) and Xiaomi Pad 6 Pro (China). Xiaomi has also ended support for regional variants of the Poco X5 5G (Turkey) and POCO X5 Pro 5G (Indonesia), and Redmi models, including the Redmi Note 12T Pro (China), Redmi K60E (China), and Redmi 10 5G (EEA).

That said, the Xiaomi 12 and Xiaomi 12 Pro include both the global models and several regional variants. The full list of affected devices is available on Xiaomi’s official End-of-Life page.

Elvis Shida – Tech Editor – 188 articles published on Notebookcheck since 2025

My love for gadgets started way back in high school when I successfully updated my Samsung Galaxy S III mini from Android 4.1.1 to Android 5.0 using a custom ROM I found online.
