Hamilton looks to sweep the season series against a banged-up Winnipeg team that can’t find its footing on offense.

This Week’s CFL Schedule

Winnipeg Blue Bombers at Hamilton Tiger-Cats

WhenSunday, July 5 at 7:00 PM ET Hamilton has won two straight and sits at 2-1, while Winnipeg has dropped back-to-back and comes in at 1-2. These two already met in Week 2, and it wasn’t close — the Ticats rolled 37-27 in Winnipeg. Now Hamilton gets a rematch at home, and the Bombers have to find a way to fix an offense that’s averaging just 75 points through three games, worst in the league.

Players to Watch:

Brady Oliveira (Winnipeg Blue Bombers, RB) — Still the engine of this offense with 222 yards on the ground, but he’s questionable with a knee injury and Winnipeg needs him at full speed to keep this game close. Injury Watch:

Brady Oliveira (Winnipeg Blue Bombers, RB) — Questionable, knee. Pick: Hamilton Tiger-Cats 34-24. Hamilton is 2-1 against the spread with three overs in three games, and with Winnipeg dealing with injuries to Oliveira and Ceresna, there’s no reason to expect a different result than Week 2.

CFL Standings

TeamWLPFPA

Edmonton Elks31108104 Quick Hits

Hamilton parted ways with DB Gregory Junior on July 3, cutting him loose as a free agent just days before this rematch.
Stavros Katsantonis (Hamilton Tiger-Cats, DB) — Hamilton’s secondary has been opportunistic all year, and he’ll be tested against a Winnipeg passing game trying to find rhythm.

Jake Ceresna (Winnipeg Blue Bombers, DL) — Listed questionable with a hip issue, but Winnipeg needs him rushing the passer if they’re going to slow down Hamilton’s offense, which has scored at least 37 in two of its last three.

Jake Ceresna (Winnipeg Blue Bombers, DL) — Questionable, hip.

Wynton McManis (Hamilton Tiger-Cats, LB) — Listed as available despite a knee injury, a good sign for the Ticats defense.

Winnipeg brought QB Dru Brown back off in-transit status onto the reserve roster, insurance if the offense keeps sputtering.

Fantasy players should be cautious with Oliveira given his questionable tag — if he’s limited, expect Winnipeg to lean even harder on the pass.

Hamilton has now scored 37-plus in back-to-back games and hasn’t allowed more than 27 points in any outing this season.
