A pedestrian is fighting for their life in hospital after being struck by a vehicle early Sunday morning in Brampton.<\/p>\n

The collision happened around 12:45 a.m. on Queen Street East between Cherrycrest Drive and Beaumaris Drive.<\/p>\n

Peel Regional Police say the pedestrian suffered critical injuries and was taken to a trauma centre. The driver remained at the scene.<\/p>\n

Queen Street East remains closed in both directions between Cherrycrest Drive and Beaumaris Drive and is expected to remain shut for an undetermined period while police investigate.<\/p>\n

Motorists are asked to avoid the area and use alternate routes.<\/p>\n
