For the second consecutive year, Spanish golfer Jon Rahm<\/a> has claimed the LIV Golf championship. He secured it with minimal flair in 2025, going winless throughout the entire season while his competitor Joaquim Niemann captured five victories.<\/p>\n

Rahm delivered his finest round of the season on Sunday, carding an eleven-under 60 at Chatham Hills in Indianapolis. However, it proved insufficient for the weekend triumph, as he lost to Niemann’s Torque GC teammate Sebastian Munoz in a playoff.<\/p>\n

The weekend delivered plenty of drama across LIV Golf<\/a>: Rahm secured the $18 million individual crown, Torque GC claimed the team victory at the tournament, with the Team Championship scheduled for next week, while Munoz established a professional golf milestone by firing a 59 despite recording a double-bogey. It comes as LIV’s top earner pocketed $65M but still missed all four majors.<\/a><\/p>\n

Rahm wasn’t completely without success in 2025: the Spanish star finished second on four occasions and recorded eight top-10 results, including this weekend’s performance in Indianapolis.<\/p>\n

He now brings a second LIV Golf title to an already impressive collection that includes the 2023 Masters championship and the 2021 U.S. Open crown.<\/p>\n

Niemann, who ended the weekend tied for fourth at -17, praised his long-standing competitor. “It was quite a show by Jon. I obviously played with him today, and I knew it was going to be a good battle,” he said.<\/p>\n

“It was going to be a long day. I knew I needed to play well. I knew Jon was playing amazing golf lately. We all know how good a player he is, and yeah, he played amazingly. I feel like he didn’t miss many shots, made a lot of putts, left his ball close to the hole pretty much every time.”<\/p>\n

Trailing behind Munoz and Rahm at -22 were Dustin Johnson (-20), Niemann (-17), David Puig (-17), Branden Grace (-17), and Carlos Ortiz (-17) on the score-friendly course. Nieman’s Torque GC wrapped up at an impressive -64 overall, shattering the previous LIV record of -53.<\/p>\n

Rahm and Niemann have maintained a respectful rapport throughout the year. The Spanish golfer commended his Chilean counterpart earlier in the week while discussing the upcoming weekend’s events.<\/p>\n

“Seven wins in two years is spectacular,” Rahm commented on Wednesday. “He’s a fantastic competitor, fantastic golfer, great person as well.<\/p>\n

“It’s a lot of fun to share the stage with him.
