He adds that talks between Giroux\u2019s agent, Pat Brisson, and the Senators escalated in the past 24 hours.<\/p>\n<p class=\"c-paragraph\">Giroux, 38, had 14 goals and 49 points in 82 games with the Senators last season. He did not record a point in four playoff games as the Senators were eliminated in the first round.<\/p>\n<p class=\"c-paragraph\">The 5-foot-11 centre is coming off a one-year, $2 million contract.<\/p>\n<p class=\"c-paragraph\">Drafted 22nd overall by the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.tsn.ca\/nhl\/team-page\/philadelphia-flyers\/4\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" title=\"https:\/\/www.tsn.ca\/nhl\/team-page\/philadelphia-flyers\/4\" target=\"_blank\">Philadelphia Flyers<\/a> in 2006, Giroux has 379 goals and 1,165 points in 1,345 career games split between the Flyers, <a href=\"https:\/\/www.tsn.ca\/nhl\/team-page\/florida-panthers\/13\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" title=\"https:\/\/www.tsn.ca\/nhl\/team-page\/florida-panthers\/13\" target=\"_blank\">Florida Panthers<\/a>, and Senators.<\/p>\n<p class=\"c-paragraph\">Giroux\u2019s best season came during 2017-18 where he recorded 34 goals and 102 points in 82 games and was named a second-team All-Star.<\/p>\n<p class=\"c-paragraph\">The Hearst, Ont., native represented Canada three times at the World Hockey Championship, taking home a gold medal in 2015 and a silver medal in 2017.
