A Quebec fishery says interest in its products has spiked in the wake of Taylor Swift and Travis Kelce\u2019s Madison Square Garden wedding on Friday. <\/p>\n
Boxes of frozen lobster meat from les \u00celes-de-la-Madeleine\u2019s P\u00eacheries L\u00e9oMar were spotted entering the arena in New York City ahead of the highly anticipated union, suggesting the product was part of the wedding menu.<\/p>\n
\u201cWe only found out afterward that our lobster had been delivered there,\u201d Christian Vigneau, the president of the company, said in an interview on Monday. \u201cWe had no idea our lobster was going to Taylor Swift\u2019s wedding.\u201d <\/p>\n
Vigneau said P\u00eacheries L\u00e9omar has received an uptick in inquiries from existing and potential customers in the time since. <\/p>\n
\u201cAsking where they can find our products, how everything works, the logistics, and all the rest of it,\u201d he said. \u201cWill this lead to something concrete? I\u2019d say yes. \u2026 We\u2019re already in discussions with a few clients, and we expect those conversations to lead to something positive for us.\u201d <\/p>\n
Vigneau explained the company works with distributors all over the world, and that its products have often been served at upscale events with \u201cjet-set clientele.\u201d Still, he described seeing the product at the Swift-Kelce wedding as a \u201ctremendous source of pride.\u201d <\/p>\n
\u201cFrom the fishermen all the way through the distribution chain, everyone on our team is very proud of it,\u201d he said. <\/p>\n
Vigneau said he expects to be able to meet any increase in demand that could come from the publicity. <\/p>\n
Asked why one would seek out Quebec lobster, he described the crustacean as \u201ca bit like beef or veal,\u201d in that the environment in which it lives and what it eats influences the taste. <\/p>\n
\u201cHere in les \u00celes-de-la-Madeleine, we\u2019re very fortunate,\u201d he said. \u201cWe live in a pure, healthy environment with cold water. Naturally, that means the quality of the product is exceptional when it comes out of the water. Our job is to honour that quality by preserving it all the way through the supply chain until it reaches the customer.\u201d <\/p>\n
P\u00eacheries L\u00e9oMar was founded in 2023, when Vigneau took over an existing company. The name is a play on words honouring his grandsons, L\u00e9o and Martin. <\/p>\n
Swift and Kelce announced their engagement in August of last year, two years after they were first linked. <\/p>\n
Their Madison Square Garden wedding drew attention around the world, with many speculating as to who would be attending. Quebec lobster may have been one of the more surprising appearances, second only to Karlie Kloss.<\/p>\n
