Baby Do Die Do, starring Huma Qureshi<\/a>, was released in theatres the same day as Alpha, starring Alia Bhatt and Sharvari. As the two female-led action films clashed at the box office on July 3, the YRF film fared comparatively better. Geetu Mohandas, who directed Huma in her Kannada-English film Toxic: A Fairytale for Grown-Ups, posted in support of the underdog.<\/p>\n

Geetu <\/a>posted a selfie with Huma on her Instagram, along with praise for Baby Do Die Do from critics. \u201cI just watched Baby Do Die Do!! and this isn\u2019t a review \u2026just what it felt like to sit there surrounded by a story built by people I know\u2026 a sister and brother who bet on each other, a partner who delivered exactly what I always knew he had in him. I wasn\u2019t watching strangers succeed. I was watching people I care about become exactly who I always knew they\u2019d become,\u201d wrote the filmmaker.<\/p>\n

She also referred to Huma by her character’s name in Toxic and wrote, \u201cThere is no surprise in me watching Huma. I know what she\u2019s capable of and what she will set out to do in the future. BRAVO my Elizabeth.\u201d However, Geetu pointed out that the film was a family risk, not just Huma\u2019s. \u201cThis isn\u2019t just Huma\u2019s film. It was a family\u2019s risk, a family\u2019s belief in each other, playing out in front of a paying audience. Well done Saqib<\/a>,\u201d wrote the filmmaker.<\/p>\n

Geetu then praised acting coach Rachit Singh<\/a>, Huma’s boyfriend, writing, \u201cAnd Rachit\u2026 I\u2019ve seen him work with actors before, and I\u2019ll say plainly\u2026 talent like his doesn\u2019t come around often, and this is just the start of a fantabulous future for you. An overwhelmed Huma replied, \u201cI\u2019m crying reading this, thank you Geetu,\u201d while her brother Saqib wrote, \u201cGeetu. Thank you for championing our baby.\u201d Rachit also responded to her praise, \u201cThank you for all your love and support.\u201d<\/p>\n
