Catherine Zeta-Jones<\/a> is opening up about living in four homes with husband Michael Douglas<\/a>.<\/p>\n

\u201cI know it sounds very jet set, and I love to surround myself with beauty but it\u2019s not excessive, it\u2019s very comfortable,\u201d Zeta-Jones, 55, told The Times<\/a> in an interview published on Sunday, August 17.<\/p>\n

Zeta-Jones and Douglas, 80, have two homes in New York, one in Canada and one in Spain. The couple enjoys spending time in Spain, where they can take a step back from the Hollywood spotlight.<\/p>\n

\u201cTwo celebrities together make 10. It\u2019s just the way it is. There\u2019s two versions of the story and there\u2019s two make-believes,\u201d she said. \u201cWe don\u2019t listen to the crap that is written about us, that\u2019s the main thing. And we respect our space, we\u2019re independent spirits.\u201d<\/p>\n

She continued, \u201cWe are very similar; we were born on the same day, 25 years apart. We\u2019re not afraid to be verbal, to express ourselves. I wear everything on my sleeve and so does he, which is good.\u201d<\/p>\n

Douglas, who tied the knot with Zeta-Jones in 2000, shared in July that he has \u201cno real intentions\u201d<\/a> of acting again. (Douglas and Zeta-Jones share son Dylan, 25, and daughter Carys, 22<\/a>. He is also dad to Cameron, 46, whom he shares with ex-wife Diandra Luker.)<\/p>\n

\u201cI have not worked since 2022 purposefully because I realized I had to stop,\u201d Douglas said at a press conference during the Karlovy Vary International Film Festival in the Czech Republic, per Variety.<\/p>\n

He continued, \u201cI had been working pretty hard for almost 60 years, and I did not want to be one of those people who dropped dead on the set. I have no real intentions of going back. I say I\u2019m not retired because if something special came up, I\u2019d go back, but otherwise, no.\u201d<\/p>\n

Douglas shared that he is content with his career, noting that there is \u201cone little independent movie\u201d that he is \u201ctrying to get a good script out of.\u201d However, Douglas noted that \u201cin the spirit of maintaining a good marriage,\u201d he is \u201chappy to play the wife\u201d to Zeta-Jones moving forward.<\/p>\n

Zeta-Jones, for her part, is happy for her husband\u2019s next chapter \u2014 but isn\u2019t ruling out the possibility of him returning to show business<\/a>.<\/p>\n

\u201cMichael has definitely earned the chance to slow down,\u201d Zeta-Jones said. \u201cBut I never say never.
