Next week\u2019s Home Run Derby in Philadelphia has a third contestant.<\/p>\n
Kansas City Royals<\/a> outfielder Jac Caglianone<\/a> announced Wednesday that he was joining the field.<\/p>\n The second-year player joins the already announced Junior Caminero<\/a> of the Tampa Bay Rays<\/a> and the New York Yankees<\/a>\u2019 Ben Rice<\/a>.<\/p>\n \u201cI was approached a couple of days ago and asked to do the Home Run Derby and I think I\u2019m gonna do it this year and have my dad throw to me,\u201d the 24-year-old Tampa native said on MLB Network\u2019s MLB Central.<\/p>\n Originally taken with the sixth overall pick of the 2024 MLB Amateur Draft out of Florida, Caglianone has 14 home runs in 299 at-bats this season. His homers have averaged a distance of 418 feet. In his first full season, Caglianone belted seven jacks in 210 ABs in 2025.<\/p>\n The 2026 Home Run Derby is set for Monday night at Citizens Bank Park.
