\n\tTommy Hilfiger<\/a> continues to expand his reach within the popular motorsports arena. On Wednesday, the fashion brand named Zhou Guanyu, China\u2019s first Formula 1<\/a> driver, as its newest global brand ambassador.<\/p>\n

\n\t\u201cZhou Guanyu represents a new generation of talent with influence that reaches far beyond the racetrack,\u201d Hilfiger said. \u201cWhat excites me most is the way he approaches style \u2014 with confidence, individuality and authenticity. I\u2019m looking forward to seeing him bring that modern perspective to our vision of \u2018Prep Made Current.\u2019\u201d<\/p>\n

\n\tZhou is a reserve driver with the Cadillac Formula 1 Team<\/a>, which boasts Tommy Hilfiger<\/a> as its official apparel partner.<\/p>\n

\n\t\u201cFashion is part of my DNA; I\u2019ve grown up understanding that clothes are not just practical \u2014 they are an entire language,\u201d Guanyu said. \u201cStyle is an opportunity to tell your story without words. For decades, Tommy Hilfiger has helped show the personality beyond the helmet, opening the door for individuality to become part of the sport. \n\tAs a global ambassador for Hilfiger, Guanyu follows in the footsteps of some other famous athletes including Lewis Hamilton, Checo P\u00e9rez<\/a>, Rafael Nadal and Thierry Henry.<\/p>\n

\n\tLast June, Hilfiger signed a multiyear deal with the Cadillac Formula 1<\/a> Team to be its apparel sponsor and to create a collection of fanwear. The team received approval to join Formula 1 last March.
