Despite stopping him in two rounds when they collided in July 2024, Moses Itauma<\/a> believes \u201cmadman\u201d Mariusz Wach represents an \u201cinteresting\u201d opponent for Tyson Fury<\/a>.<\/p>\n

It was announced last week that \u2018The Gypsy King\u2019 will be facing Wach on July 24<\/a>, the day before Anthony Joshua\u2019s warm-up fight against Kristian Prenga in Jeddah, Saudi Arabia.<\/p>\n

Ordinarily, Fury would come under heavy criticism for fighting a 46-year-old veteran but, on this occasion, he could perhaps be forgiven for accepting such a low-risk opponent.<\/p>\n

This is partly because his long-awaited showdown with \u2018AJ\u2019 \u2013 expected to take place this November \u2013 has made it so that neither Brit can afford any major slip-ups in their respective next outings.<\/p>\n

But also, Fury has dressed this up more as a charitable event than any money-making scheme, having claimed that all proceeds will be donated to the \u201cstarving and homeless children\u201d of Pattaya, Thailand.<\/p>\n

Not only that, but the WBC will present the 37-year-old with an inaugural \u2018humanitarian\u2019 belt in acknowledgement of this occasion, which will take place at the Max Muaythai Stadium \u2013 a 2,000 capacity venue \u2013 in Pattaya.<\/p>\n

As for the fight itself, heavyweight prodigy Itauma has discussed his thoughts with IFL TV<\/a>.<\/p>\n

\u201cMy brother sent [the Fury-Wach poster] to me in the group chat a couple days ago, and I was like, \u2018This is interesting\u2019.<\/p>\n

\u201cI wouldn\u2019t say it\u2019s a similar style to Joshua, but [Wach] is similar [in some ways]. Wach\u2019s a madman. I\u2019ve had him here for sparring a few times \u2013 he sparred me and [then went to] the pub for a fight.<\/p>\n

\u201cThe first time I asked him to come for sparring, he didn\u2019t even ask me for flights; he didn\u2019t ask me for accommodation; he didn\u2019t ask me how much he was going to get paid. He just said yes.<\/p>\n

\u201cThe bell went and he just tried to take my head off.\u201d<\/p>\n
