{"id":790774,"date":"2026-07-09T15:20:12","date_gmt":"2026-07-09T15:20:12","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/ca\/790774\/"},"modified":"2026-07-09T15:20:12","modified_gmt":"2026-07-09T15:20:12","slug":"patrick-stewart-wont-retire-from-acting","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/ca\/790774\/","title":{"rendered":"Patrick Stewart Won&#8217;t Retire From Acting"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>            <a href=\"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/ca\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/07\/patrick-stewart-wont-retire-from-acting.jpg\" data-caption=\"Paramount+\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"1200\" height=\"800\" class=\"entry-thumb td-modal-image\" src=\"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/ca\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/07\/patrick-stewart-wont-retire-from-acting.jpg\"   alt=\"\" title=\"patrick-stewart-wont-retire-from-acting\"\/><\/a>Paramount+<\/p>\n<p>\u201cX-Men\u201d and \u201cStar Trek\u201d star Sir Patrick Stewart says that recent reports of his retirement have been heavily exaggerated.<\/p>\n<p>Rumors recently began swirling online that his role in the upcoming \u201cAvengers: Doomsday\u201d at Marvel Studios would be the final screen outing for the actor who celebrates his 86th birthday next week.<\/p>\n<p>Stewart has now pretty flatly denied the reports in an interview with <a href=\"https:\/\/www.tvinsider.com\/1273694\/patrick-stewart-star-trek-60th-anniversary-exclusive-interview-picard-next-generation\/\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">TV Insider<\/a>.  The outlet asked him if he was retired or changing his approach to the current phase of his career.  He responded:<\/p>\n<p>\u201cAs any actor my age will tell you, there are fewer and fewer available roles as we get older. That being said, I still continue to receive interesting offers, and I love being challenged by new work, like voicing a pig\u2019s head in Riz Ahmed\u2019s brilliant new series \u2018Bait\u2019. I can\u2019t imagine ever officially \u2018retiring\u2019.
