{"id":791406,"date":"2026-07-09T21:51:10","date_gmt":"2026-07-09T21:51:10","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/ca\/791406\/"},"modified":"2026-07-09T21:51:10","modified_gmt":"2026-07-09T21:51:10","slug":"update-fatal-collision-on-rapids-road","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/ca\/791406\/","title":{"rendered":"UPDATE: Fatal collision on Rapids Road"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>\t\t\t\t&#13;<\/p>\n<p>\t\t\t\t<img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/ca\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/07\/opp-stock-road-closure.jpg\" class=\"header-image\" alt=\"UPDATE: Fatal collision on Rapids Road\"\/>\t\t\t\t<\/p>\n<p>There is a tragic update regarding the collision that shut down Rapids Road.<\/p>\n<p>Central Hastings OPP say that the single-vehicle collision in Tweed has resulted in a fatality.<\/p>\n<p>OPP reported late last night that Rapids Road between Martin Road and Marrisett Road north of Thomasburg was closed due to the collision.<\/p>\n<p data-olk-copy-source=\"MessageBody\">As a result of the collision, the driver and lone occupant, a 41-year-old male from Foxboro, was pronounced deceased.<\/p>\n<p>The investigation by Central Hastings OPP remains ongoing, with assistance from Collision Reconstructionists and Technical Collision Investigators from the OPP Traffic Incident Management Enforcement team.<\/p>\n<p>Rapids Road was closed for several hours between Martin Road and Marrisett Road while emergency crews and investigators were on scene, but has since reopened.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"&#13; There is a tragic update regarding the collision that shut down Rapids Road.
