{"id":791640,"date":"2026-07-10T00:11:12","date_gmt":"2026-07-10T00:11:12","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/ca\/791640\/"},"modified":"2026-07-10T00:11:12","modified_gmt":"2026-07-10T00:11:12","slug":"ferrari-responds-to-lewis-hamilton-f1-contract-rumours","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/ca\/791640\/","title":{"rendered":"Ferrari responds to Lewis Hamilton F1 contract rumours"},"content":{"rendered":"<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">After reports in Italy claiming that Lewis Hamilton is planning to activate his option to remain with the team for another <a href=\"https:\/\/www.motorsportweek.com\/series\/single-seater\/formula-1\/\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">Formula 1<\/a> season, Ferrari boss Fred Vasseur has said he will \u2018discuss with him, not everybody\u2019 about his extension.<\/p>\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">After a difficult first season with <a href=\"https:\/\/www.ferrari.com\/en-EN\/formula1\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">Ferrari<\/a> in 2025 and only managing a sprint win in China, Hamilton is now a Ferrari winner after his win out in Barcelona mid-June.<\/p>\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Including his win, the Brit now has five podiums with the Italian-based team, after a nightmarish first season in which he failed to score a top-three finish for the first time in his career.<\/p>\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">It is believed that his contract covered the 2025 and 2026 season with an option to extend for a year into 2027, but rumours have claimed this option only exists on<br \/>Hamilton\u2019s side.<\/p>\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Fresh reports last week have suggested that the Stevenage-born driver is close to activating his option to remain with Ferrari and guarantee his seat at Ferrari beyond the 2026 season. <\/p>\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Speaking to Motorsport Week and other media outlets ahead of last weekend\u2019s British Grand Prix, the Ferrari Team Principal, when asked if talks about a new<br \/>contract have started with the seven-time World Champion, responded: \u201cWho spoke about the extension?
