The family of a woman killed in a Mississauga hit-and-run crash are remembering her as a “kind soul” who would would help anyone in need.<\/p>\n

Chanelle Allcock-Radmore, 38, was struck and killed by a driver in a vehicle near Eglinton Avenue and Erin Mills Parkway early Sunday morning when crossing the street. Peel police said the vehicle fled the scene, heading eastbound on Eglinton.<\/p>\n

Allcock-Radmore was a newly wed who just celebrated her 38th birthday last month. <\/p>\n

She was taking her husband to an appointment at Credit Valley Hospital before she was struck, Allcock said. <\/p>\n

Allcock and her husband rushed to the hospital, where they got the news that their daughter died.<\/p>\n

\u201cI don\u2019t know how I survived that moment. But I thought I was dying,\u201d said Allcock. <\/p>\n

Allcock described her daughter as a very loving, thoughtful and “sporty” person who loved the Maple Leafs and cheering on Canada during the World Cup. <\/p>\n

\u201cShe was very compassionate [and] attentive to other people\u2019s needs,” said Radmore. <\/p>\n

\u201cShe is a very outgoing person. She will be there for anybody if they need it. She\u2019ll be telling people happy birthday even if they just met once,\u201d he said. <\/p>\n

Allcock-Radmore’s family is urging the driver of the vehicle to turn themselves in. <\/p>\n

During a news conference Sunday, police spokesperson Sgt. Tyler Bell-Morena appealed to automotive businesses and junk yards in the area of the hit-and-run to look for damaged cars coming in and to call police if they’re suspicious. <\/p>\n
