After crossing the Col du Tourmalet, the<br \/>\npeloton now <a href=\"https:\/\/www.idlprocycling.com\/cycling\/2026-tour-de-france-stage-7-preview-heavy-legs-royal-sprinting-in-bordeaux\" target=\"_self\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\">returns <\/a>to the territory of the fast men, with the sprinters<br \/>\ngetting another opportunity in Bordeaux. Follow all the action with IDL Pro<br \/>\nCycling!<\/p>\n<p>Bordeaux and<br \/>\nthe Tour de France are inseparable. Only Paris has<br \/>\nappeared more frequently in the history of the race, and Bordeaux is a Tour<br \/>\nstage town for the 83rd time in 2026. When the peloton arrives in the wine<br \/>\ncity, the day often ends in a bunch sprint. Previous winners in Bordeaux<br \/>\ninclude Mark Cavendish, Jasper Philipsen and Jean-Paul van Poppel. Servais<br \/>\nKnaven\u2019s breakaway victory in 2003 was a notable exception.<\/p>\n<p>Another<br \/>\nsprint appears highly likely this time. Apart from the time trials, Stage 7<br \/>\nfeatures the least climbing of the entire route, with only around 700 metres of<br \/>\nelevation gain.
