And while former light heavyweight champion Andre Ward gunned for a showdown with Joshua recently<\/a>, it seems Joshua only has eyes for a pairing with Paul, regardless.<\/p>\n Furthermore, a fellow Olympic gold medal winner<\/a> \u2014 akin to Joshua \u2014 also looks set to miss out on the sweepstakes to fight the British fan-favorite.<\/p>\n Tony Yoka ruled from Anthony Joshua fight by promoter<\/p>\n Another name hot on the lips of boxing fans to share the ring with Joshua next is French prospect, Tony Yoka \u2014 who struck his Olympic gold medal at the Summer Games in Brazil back in 2016.<\/p>\n So much so, rumors suggested recently that Yoka was in a promising position to fight Joshua next \u2014 with a potential showdown in a blockbuster trip to Africa mooted<\/a>.<\/p>\n But as far as Yoka\u2019s promoter, Frank Warren, is concerned, the Queensberry leader admits Paul is still leading the hotly contested race to fight Joshua next.<\/p>\n \u201cI haven\u2019t had a conversation about it [a fight between Joshua and Yoka],\u201d Warren told Boxing News. \u201cWhat happened [is] \u2014 I think Tony (Yoka) wanted the fight from what I gather.<\/p>\n \u201cBut most of the conversation is about AJ fighting Jake Paul,\u201d Warren continued. \u201cI think they\u2019re [the reports of the fight] are quite solid at the moment. But it\u2019s not my business.\u201d<\/p>\n Anthony Joshua urged to take Jake Paul fight<\/p>\n And while the subject of Joshua sharing the ring with Paul immediately has garnered some discourse in the sport\u2019s circles, a former foe of the ex-champion has urged him to take the lucrative fight.<\/p>\n Still yet to return since his hellacious knockout defeat to Daniel Dubois<\/a>, Joshua has been backed by recent feature Dillian Whyte<\/a> to just book the Paul fight while he can still make significant money in the ring.<\/p>\n \u201cIt\u2019s a business, man,\u201d Whyte told the\u00a0BBC. \u201cIf it (Anthony Joshua vs. Jake Paul) makes sense and it does numbers, then why not?<\/p>\n \u201cHe\u2019s won the title twice, he\u2019s done a lot,\u201d Whyte said of Joshua. \u201c[He\u2019s] had a lot of fights.
