MIAMI, July 10 (Reuters) – England captain \u2060Harry \u2060Kane has confirmed he \u2060once played golf with U.S. President Donald \u200bTrump, describing the experience as “surreal” and praising the president’s game.<\/p>\n

Trump told \u200creporters earlier this week \u200cthat he had played golf with Kane, calling \u2060the England \u2060striker a great player and a good golfer.<\/p>\n

Speaking on \u200bFriday on the eve of their World Cup quarter-final match against Norway, Kane confirmed the round took place in Palm \u200bBeach, Florida, about 18 months ago.<\/p>\n

“I played all right, to \u2060be honest,” \u2060Kane told reporters \u2060in \u200bMiami. “He invited me to play when I was down in Palm \u200bBeach. So yeah, \u2060when the president invites you somewhere …<\/p>\n

“It was a pretty surreal experience just to meet him and obviously play golf with him. His golf is pretty good, to be \u2060honest,” Kane added. “I hope I can play as well as \u2060him when I’m his age. So yeah, unique experience and I was just grateful he invited me down to play.”<\/p>\n

Trump had complimented the Bayern Munich forward on his Truth Social platform following England’s 3-2 last-16 victory over Mexico, writing: “Harry Kane of England is a GREAT player!!!”<\/p>\n

The following day, Trump revealed the \u2060pair had played golf together.<\/p>\n

“I think Kane is a great player,” Trump said. “I played golf with him and I like him a lot. He’s a good \u200bgolfer. He’s really great.”<\/p>\n
