{"id":79439,"date":"2025-08-18T19:35:11","date_gmt":"2025-08-18T19:35:11","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/ca\/79439\/"},"modified":"2025-08-18T19:35:11","modified_gmt":"2025-08-18T19:35:11","slug":"sky-news-cancels-dedicated-business-live-show-after-ian-king-exit","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/ca\/79439\/","title":{"rendered":"Sky News Cancels Dedicated &#8216;Business Live&#8217; Show After Ian King Exit"},"content":{"rendered":"<p class=\"paragraph larva \/\/ lrv-u-margin-lr-auto     \">\n\t<a href=\"https:\/\/deadline.com\/tag\/sky-news\/\" id=\"auto-tag_sky-news\" data-tag=\"sky-news\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">Sky News<\/a> is shutting up shop on its dedicated business show after more than a decade.<\/p>\n<p class=\"paragraph larva \/\/ lrv-u-margin-lr-auto     \">\n\tEmployees at the <a href=\"https:\/\/deadline.com\/tag\/comcast\/\" id=\"auto-tag_comcast\" data-tag=\"comcast\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">Comcast<\/a>-owned network were told on Monday that Business Live will not return later this year as Sky News pivots to premium digital content under its \u201c2030\u201d strategy.<\/p>\n<p class=\"paragraph larva \/\/ lrv-u-margin-lr-auto     \">\n\tIn an internal email seen by Deadline, Jonathan Levy, Sky News\u2019 managing director and executive editor, said: \u201cBusiness and economics content will continue to feature prominently in our flagship TV shows and rolling breaking &amp; live news coverage.<\/p>\n<p class=\"paragraph larva \/\/ lrv-u-margin-lr-auto     \">\n\t\u201cWe have spoken directly with those affected by this change and I want to thank them for their dedication to Business Live over the years.\u201d<\/p>\n<p class=\"paragraph larva \/\/ lrv-u-margin-lr-auto     \">\n\tLevy did not elaborate on whether there would be job losses as part of the decision. A Sky News spokeswoman declined to comment further. <\/p>\n<p class=\"paragraph larva \/\/ lrv-u-margin-lr-auto     \">\n\tBusiness Live was previously known as Ian King Live until the presenter exited last year. The show first launched in 2014, but Sky News\u2019 dedicated business output goes back further to Jeff Randall Live, which launched in 2007.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"Sky News is shutting up shop on its dedicated business show after more than a decade.
