The MLB Draft is set for this weekend, with implications on Mississippi State\u2019s 2027 lineup. MLB\u2019s top-250 draft prospects has two Bulldogs from the 2026 roster, and eight class of 2026 high school signees.<\/p>\n
Not all signees on MLB\u2019s list are expected to sign with a pro squad, but here is a look at where each are ranked as draft prospects.<\/p>\n
The MLB draft starts at noon Saturday.<\/p>\n
No. 18 Ace Reese, 3B<\/p>\n
MSU fans should have already started mourning the loss of last year\u2019s offensive leader.<\/p>\n
Reese led the Bulldogs in home runs (24) and RBI (74) last season as a junior. He is MLB\u2019s 18th best prospect in the draft.<\/p>\n
No. 46 Will Brick, C<\/p>\n
The first MSU high school signee on the list is Will Brick, a catcher from Memphis, Tennessee.<\/p>\n
Brick hit .517 with an OBP of .615 as a senior at Christian Brothers High School, according to MaxPreps. He is the fourth highest rated catcher in the draft, and the highest rated high school catcher.<\/p>\n
No. 49 Rocco Maniscalco, SS <\/p>\n
The last Bulldog in the top-50 is Rocco Maniscalco, a shortstop from Oxford, Alabama.<\/p>\n
The son of former MSU shortstop Matt Maniscalco, he is the 10th highest-rated shortstop in the draft.<\/p>\n
No. 77 Landon Brown, RHP <\/p>\n
Landon Brown, from Iowa Colony High School in Texas is the highest-rated MSU pitching signee on the draft board.<\/p>\n
No. 80 Denton Lord, RHP<\/p>\n
The next pitcher on the list is Denton Lord from Santa Rosa Beach, Florida.<\/p>\n
The righty posted a 1.15 ERA and an 8-1 record as a senior at South Walton High School.<\/p>\n
No. 111 Wilson Andersen, RHP<\/p>\n
The third-straight right-handed pitcher representing State on the list is Wilson Andersen, from Tampa Florida.<\/p>\n
He went 11-2 with a 1.62 ERA last year at Jesuit High School. A two-way high school player, Andersen hit .426 with 36 RBI as a senior, according to MaxPreps.<\/p>\n
No. 175 Martin Shelar, OF <\/p>\n
Martin Shelar, from Atlanta, Georgia, is one of two outfielders committed to MSU in the 2026 class.<\/p>\n
He hit .506 in 89 at bats as a senior at the Marist School.<\/p>\n
No. 203 Jake Carbaugh, RHP<\/p>\n
Yet another righty hurler on this list, Jake Carbaugh is committed to come to Starkville by way of Plant City, Florida.<\/p>\n
His best high school season came as a junior, when he went 6-2 with a 1.65 ERA at Plant City High School.<\/p>\n
No. 239 Noah Danza, SS<\/p>\n
Danza originally signed with head coach Brian O\u2019Connor at Virginia, but flipped his commitment to follow O\u2019Connor to Starkville.<\/p>\n
A product of Gloucester Catholic in New Jersey, Danza hit .473 with 31 RBI as a senior, according to NJ.com.<\/p>\n
No. 232 Ben Davis, RHP<\/p>\n
The second of the two who played for MSU in 2026, Davis is the last MSU representative on the list.<\/p>\n
The senior had a 3.64 ERA over 26 appearances last season.<\/p>\n
