KitKat created a chocolate F1 car that\u2019s the size of a real Formula 1 car<\/a>.<\/p>\n

The car is literally made entirely out of chocolate, and it looks spectacular.<\/p>\n

And it\u2019s probably delicious.<\/p>\n

But that leads to the question on everyone\u2019s mind.<\/p>\n

Now that\u2019s how you celebrate a partnership<\/p>\n

In the past, companies and marketing agencies used to use words like \u2018sponsors\u2019 or equivalent expressions.<\/p>\n

Today, the most commonly used word is \u2018partner\u2019, along with whatever it is the company makes.<\/p>\n

If KitKat made watches, they\u2019d be F1\u2019s timekeeping partner<\/a>.<\/p>\n

If they made straw hats, they\u2019d be F1\u2019s straw hat partner.<\/p>\n

In short, KitKat is now the official chocolate partner<\/a> \u2013 which is an amusing title, if you think about it \u2013 of Formula 1 and this car was designed exactly for that reason.<\/p>\n

When brands become official what-have-you partner of Formula 1, they often create limited-edition merchandise or products.<\/p>\n

But KitKat took it one step further by creating a real F1 car made from chocolate.<\/p>\n

That\u2019s next-level marketing, so kudos for that.<\/p>\n

People have one specific question about this F1 car<\/p>\n

Unveiled at Silverstone, the car was then showcased in York, which is considered the birthplace of KitKat and is also home to Nestl\u00e9\u2019s R&D center.<\/p>\n

The KitKat car is almost exactly the same size as a real Formula 1 car.<\/p>\n

It\u2019s around 5 metres long and 2 metres wide, and it weighs 350 kilograms.<\/p>\n

To put that into perspective, a real 2026 F1 car<\/a> has a minimum weight of 768 kg \u2013 meaning this massive chocolate sculpture is less than half the weight of the real thing, but that\u2019s still pretty heavy for some chocolate.<\/p>\n

KitKat apparently invested 1,254 hours and 16,900 two-finger KitKats<\/a> to create this beauty.<\/p>\n

This left everyone with a question: what\u2019s going to happen to it?<\/p>\n

We may have an answer to the question, but it won\u2019t be what people are hoping for.<\/p>\n

No, you\u2019re never going to be able to eat this<\/p>\n

While the long-term fate of the 350kg chocolate car hasn\u2019t been explicitly detailed by Nestl\u00e9, large-scale promotional sculptures like this usually follow a strict protocol.<\/p>\n

Crucially, that protocol never involves public consumption due to health, safety, and liability reasons.<\/p>\n

The car has been photographed, transported from A to B to C, touched, and maybe even sat on by several people.<\/p>\n

As a result, it certainly won\u2019t be broken up for anyone to snack on.<\/p>\n

PR installations of this size typically go through one of two paths after their tour ends.<\/p>\n

Sometimes, they can be moved to a climate-controlled environment inside a corporate headquarters or a brand museum.<\/p>\n

The alternative is a little sadder but arguably more useful.<\/p>\n

Sometimes, if it cannot be safely preserved, the chocolate is melted down and recycled, but it\u2019ll never go back into food.<\/p>\n

Generally, companies repurpose the organic material to industrial use, for example for biofuel production.<\/p>\n

Still, there\u2019s a silver lining.<\/p>\n
