\n\tRIYADH:\u00a0Oman\u2019s trade balance recorded a surplus of\u00a02.09 billion Omani rials\u00a0($5.4 billion) by the end of April,\u00a0little changed from\u00a02.11 billion rials in the same period of 2025, as merchandise exports continued to exceed imports during the first four months of the year.\u00a0<\/p>\n
\n\tPreliminary data issued by the National Centre for Statistics and Information showed that Oman\u2019s total merchandise exports reached\u00a07.6 billion rials\u00a0by the end of April, while merchandise imports stood at\u00a05.5 billion rials, resulting in\u00a0a trade surplus of more than\u00a02 billion rials.\u00a0<\/p>\n
\n\tOil and gas exports fell\u00a07.5 percent to\u00a04.7 billion rials\u00a0by the end of April, compared with\u00a05.1 billion rials\u00a0in the same period a year earlier. Non-oil exports reached\u00a02.1 billion rials, compared with\u00a02.2 billion rials\u00a0in the corresponding period of 2025.\u00a0<\/p>\n
\n\tThe data\u00a0comes\u00a0as Oman\u2019s regional\u00a0neighbors\u00a0continue to report strong trade activity, with re-exports and non-oil trade playing a larger role across the Gulf.\u00a0<\/p>\n
\n\tSaudi Arabia\u2019s trade surplus more than doubled in April,\u00a0driven by higher oil exports, while non-oil exports, including re-exports, also increased.\u00a0The UAE reported that re-exports reached\u00a0830.2 billion dirhams\u00a0by the end of 2025, underscoring its position as a regional trade hub.\u00a0<\/p>\n
\n\t\u201cThe value of re-exports from the Sultanate of Oman rose to 770 million rials by the end of April 2026, compared with 462 million rials during the same period in 2025, achieving growth of 66.8 percent,\u201d\u00a0the\u00a0Oman News Agency\u00a0reported.\u00a0\u00a0<\/p>\n
\n\tThe UAE was the top destination for Oman\u2019s non-oil exports, with a value of\u00a0480 million rials, followed by Saudi Arabia at\u00a0233 million rials\u00a0and India at\u00a0214 million rials. The US and South Korea followed with\u00a0168 million rials\u00a0and\u00a0160 million rials, respectively.\u00a0<\/p>\n
\n\tIn re-export activity, the UAE ranked first with\u00a0331 million rials, followed by Saudi Arabia at\u00a0140 million rials\u00a0and Iran at\u00a098 million rials.\u00a0<\/p>\n
\n\tOn the imports side, the UAE was the leading exporter to Oman, with goods valued at\u00a01.5 billion rials, followed by China at\u00a0801 million rials\u00a0and\u00a0Turkiye\u00a0at\u00a0422 million rials.
