Hollyoaks actor Oscar Curtis has spoken about returning as Lucas Hay following his extended break from the soap. Digital Spy exclusively revealed last month that Curtis had returned to filming<\/a> after his character received a prison sentence<\/a> in March.<\/p>\n

Speaking in a Q&A on his Instagram<\/a> story, Curtis said he loved being back as Lucas after enjoying a much-needed break.<\/p>\n

“I think I was filming most days for three days straight,” he said. “You need a little bit of a break and it just came at a perfect time with the story – the character going into prison and everything.<\/p>\n

“Now that I’m back – honestly, the first day, you’re just shitting it because it’s your first day again. But after a couple of days of filming, it’s just like you never left and it’s brilliant. I’m really glad to be back.<\/p>\n

“And I’m excited for everyone to see what we’ve got going on.”<\/p>\n

The actor was also asked about the best piece of advice he’s received, crediting his manager Alan who imparted some wise words on him while he was on holiday. <\/p>\n

Curtis explained: “He just said: ‘Look, when you meet people, be yourself fully. Whatever answers you give, be yourself in those answers. Don’t try and say what you think they want to hear’. And in doing that, I found a lot of peace in being myself and learned to love myself more.”<\/p>\n

We’re still a while away from seeing Lucas’ return on screen but our Hollyoaks insider previously revealed some juicy details to get fans excited. <\/p>\n

“Lucas will be heading back to the village after being released from jail,” our Hollyoaks source teased. “When we last saw him, he was ready to face the consequences of his behaviour after months of violent outbursts, so it’ll be interesting to see if he’s a changed lad once he’s back.<\/p>\n

“Can Lucas make a fresh start with his dad Ste after the horrors of their child-to-parent abuse story<\/a>, or is there more drama to come? And with long-term boyfriend Dillon gone<\/a>, where does Lucas’s personal life go from here?”<\/p>\n

Hollyoaks airs on Mondays-Wednesdays with its Channel 4 streaming<\/a> premiere at 7am, then an E4 broadcast the same night at 7pm. Full episodes are also released on YouTube a week after their Channel 4 release.<\/p>\n
