But in practice, not so much. The main issue is that these bands are not meant to be paired with a watch, and vice versa. The fit is going to be awkward and uncomfortable in most cases, and it\u2019s going to be bulkier than you\u2019d like it to be.<\/p>\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Enter the Codex XBand, a new project on Kickstarter that\u2019s aiming to produce a dedicated smart wearable integrated into the clasp of a dedicated luxury-level rubber watch strap.<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" data-dominant-color=\"c2c0b4\" data-has-transparency=\"false\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"1500\" height=\"1200\" src=\"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/ca\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/07\/codex-xband-watch-strap-high-five.webp\" alt=\"Two raised hands, one wearing a white glove with \" ina=\"\" logo=\"\" and=\"\" a=\"\" black=\"\" wristwatch=\"\" the=\"\" other=\"\" with=\"\" an=\"\" orange=\"\" wristband=\"\" against=\"\" blue=\"\" sky.=\"\" class=\"wp-image-1013165 not-transparent\" style=\"--dominant-color: #c2c0b4; aspect-ratio:5\/4;object-fit:cover;object-position: 42% 78%\"  \/>Look again, that\u2019s not a Rolex Oysterflex.Codex<\/p>\n<p>Band together<\/p>\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The XBand is made of rubber with styling reminiscent of, and clearly inspired by, <a href=\"https:\/\/www.gearpatrol.com\/watches\/a539980\/the-complete-rolex-buying-guide\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener nofollow\">Rolex\u2019s Oysterflex bracelet<\/a>. This inspiration continues to the oversized stainless steel clasp, which has a raised center portion to match the strap and opens via a deployant system. If I saw someone wearing the XBand on a Rolex from across the room, I would assume it was an Oysterflex.<\/p>\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The strap itself is quite premium. It\u2019s made of <a href=\"https:\/\/www.gearpatrol.com\/watches\/rubber-watch-straps\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener nofollow\">FKM rubber<\/a>, which is the same material used in high-end rubber watch straps, and it\u2019s equipped with what appears to be a very nice push-button quick-release spring bar system.
