THE CANADIAN PRESS\/Keito Newman<\/p>\n<p>By The Canadian Press<\/p>\n<p>\n\t\t\t\tJul 12, 2026 | 6:35 AM\n\t\t\t<\/p>\n<p>TORONTO \u2014 The remainder of Toronto\u2019s Salsa on St. Clair festival was cancelled as police investigated a shooting that left two people dead and others injured at the event on Saturday night.<\/p>\n<p>In an Instagram post Sunday, organizers said the street festival would not resume that day, \u201cdue to the complex police investigations at the scene.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>\u201cOur thoughts are with the families of the two persons killed, those who were injured and everyone affected by this senseless violence,\u201d the post said.<\/p>\n<p>Toronto Police said an estimated 13,000 people were attending the festival when shots rang out shortly after 8 p.m. in the area of St. Clair Avenue West and Arlington Avenue.
