Rosie O\u2019Donnell is repairing her relationship with her eldest daughter, Chelsea.<\/p>\n
The comedian exclusively told Page Six that their recent reunion while Chelsea is behind bars<\/a> \u201cwas the first conversation I\u2019ve had with her in 10 years that lasted more than 25 minutes.\u201d<\/p>\n \u201cThe first time that I saw her in a consistent way was the four hours in the prison,\u201d she added, noting that Chelsea cried when the visit was cut short due to a tornado warning.<\/p>\n Rosie O\u2019Donnell visited her daughter Chelsea (seen above with the actress) in prison in June. rosie o’donnell \/ instagram<\/p>\n The \u201cView\u201d alum (seen here in June) told Page Six it was her first meaningful conversation with Chelsea in years. GC Images<\/p>\n \u201cAnd that\u2019s the first time I\u2019ve seen, kind of, an empathetic emotion from her,\u201d O\u2019Donnell explained.<\/p>\n \u201cSo, you know, she\u2019s growing up,\u201d she said, \u201cand I hope that her future is brighter than this past decade has been.\u201d<\/p>\n The \u201cA League of Their Own\u201d actress, 64, wrote a poem about the visit.<\/p>\n \u201cThe guard explained the rules,\u201d she wrote in part. \u201cA hug hello and goodbye only \/ No money exchanged \/ Hands above the table \/ No loud voices.\u201d<\/p>\n O\u2019Donnell penned that her heart \u201cskip[ped] a beat\u201d and she described Chelsea as looking \u201cgood\u201d and exuding a \u201chealthy calm.\u201d<\/p>\n O\u2019Donnell (seen above at the Tony Awards 2026) wrote a poem about the visit. Marinette County Sheriff’s Office<\/p>\n In February 2025, Chelsea, a mother-of-four, appeared in court<\/a> over felony bail jumping, resisting or obstructing an officer and possession of methamphetamine and child neglect.<\/p>\n She was sentenced to six years of probation and warned that prison was an option if she violated her probation requirements.<\/p>\n That October, her probation was revoked<\/a> and she was sentenced to jail.<\/p>\n The comedian (seen above with her eldest daughter) adopted Chelsea as a baby.
