The NASCAR <\/a>Playoffs have completely changed with Austin Dillon winning at Richmond Raceway over the weekend. Drivers on the bubble are going to be desperate at Daytona to hold onto their spot in the postseason. <\/p>\n

Tyler Reddick is in danger of missing the playoffs now. He is only 29 points up on 16th place, Alex Bowman. If there is a new winner below the cutline, and Bowman outperforms Reddick, there is a chance of the 45 being the first team out. <\/p>\n

Jeff Gluck and Jordan Bianchi of The Athletic talked about the NASCAR Playoffs scenario going into Daytona. The intensity is ramping up. <\/p>\n

\u201cWe talked about last week, oh we\u2019re talking ourselves into there could be a new winner at Richmond, right?\u201d Gluck said after Austin Dillon\u2019s win, via The Teardown<\/a>. \u201cBut we thought that after this, there would only be, you know, one spot up in doubt. So, like, okay, let\u2019s say you get a new winner at Richmond, the line moves down. So, it\u2019s either Bowman or if there\u2019s a battle between Bowman and Buescher points-wise, or a new winner. Now, Tyler Reddick was having a great night, he really was. He had one of the fastest cars. He was running, he led, let\u2019s see \u2013 41 laps. And obviously, 23XI in general was fast. Bubba Wallace led the most laps tonight, 123. <\/p>\n

\u201cWe don\u2019t know what would have happened with Reddick, with how the strategy would have shaken out. But it looked like he was going to be en route for a top-three run, perhaps. Would have been a lot of points. Instead, Su\u00e1rez is getting impatient there, I guess on newer tires. Bumps Ty [Gibbs] up the track, out of the way. Kind of in a spot where he\u2019s got somebody to his outside \u2026 Ty Gibbs takes out Tyler Reddick.\u201d <\/p>\n

Jordan Bianchi was interested in the playoff picture after Austin Dillon\u2019s Richmond win. It puts Reddick, last year\u2019s regular-season champion, in a tough spot. <\/p>\n

\u201cIt got really interesting really quick, and it\u2019s wild to think that a guy in Tyler Reddick, who by the way won the regular season championship a year ago and made the Championship 4, is in this position a year later,\u201d Bianchi said. \u201cDoesn\u2019t have a win this year, hasn\u2019t led a ton of laps. You know, Austin Dillon has actually led more laps than Tyler Reddick this year. And it\u2019s just been a cruel summer for Reddick.
