<\/p>\nTemporary changes of Brampton\u2019s noise bylaw will keep workers on the job around the clock this weekend during construction at a busy Brampton intersection.<\/p>\n
The work is part of ongoing improvements and replacements of watermains and services along Queen Street West, and will see a road closure in place at the intersection of Queen and McLaughlin Road starting on Friday.<\/p>\n
\u201cUnder the City of Brampton Noise Bylaw, work is permitted to occur continuously, for 24 hours a day, throughout the weekend of July 17 to help reduce the impact of construction activities,\u201d the Region of Peel says in an update.<\/p>\n
Work will run through the weekend 24-hours a day until Monday at 5 a.m., and the intersection will be closed to all through traffic. A detour route will be in place with marked signs, and traffic will be directed by police officers, the region says.<\/p>\n
Peel Public Works says work crews will make efforts to reduce impacts to local residents, and no \u201csignificant noise or vibrations above normal daytime construction levels\u201d are expected.<\/p>\n

Paving will limit driveway access for some residents from 8 p.m. on Friday until 5 on Monday, and the region says residents and visitors will need to use alternative parking. Temporary parking will be set up on nearby side streets with the City of Brampton for the duration of this work. Impacted residents can register with the city\u2019s Parking Exemption Application online<\/a>.<\/p>\n Parking will also be available on Queen Street West in front of homes within the construction zone.<\/p>\n The ongoing road and watermain work has been causing weeks of closures and lane reductions<\/a>, as the water infrastructure across the region is being upgraded to meet the expected population growth.<\/p>\n
