\n News<\/a>\t<\/p>\n \t\t\tJuly 13th, 2026 Newfoundland and Labrador Whale Release and Strandings is trying to keep their eye on a baby humpback whale that seems to be entangled in fishing gear.<\/p>\n The whale was spotted near Isle-Aux-Mortis on Sunday, but it seems to have made some distance since then. The Whale Release and Strandings group says the whale was last reported to them by a Marine Atlantic ferry who was it near Channel-Port-aux-Basques.<\/p>\n While there have been some sightings of the entangled baby humpback, it\u2019s unclear where it\u2019s located now.<\/p>\n Newfoundland and Labrador Whale Release and Strandings is asking for boaters in the area to keep their eyes peeled for the whale, but do not approach it if you see it, instead call the group.
