\nEnvironment Canada has continued a Yellow Level Heat Warning for the Blind River\u2013Thessalon and Elliot Lake\u2013Ranger Lake areas.<\/p>\n
What to Expect<\/p>\n
\n\tDaytime highs of 30\u00b0C to 37\u00b0C
\n\tOvernight lows of 20\u00b0C to 24\u00b0C
\n\tHumidex values between 38 and 45
\n\tTuesday is expected to be the hottest day of the heat event.
\n\tThe heat is expected to continue until Wednesday or Thursday evening.

Stay Safe During the Heat<\/p>\n
\n\tDrink plenty of water before you feel thirsty.
\n\tStay in air-conditioned or cool spaces whenever possible.
\n\tPlan outdoor activities for the morning or evening when temperatures are cooler, and wear lightweight, light-coloured clothing and a wide-brimmed hat.
\n\tCheck in on older adults, those living alone, young children, and others who may be more vulnerable to the heat.
\n\tNever leave children or pets unattended in a parked vehicle.
\n\tHot and humid conditions may also lead to poor air quality. If you have a respiratory condition, reduce strenuous outdoor activities and monitor local air quality updates.

Early signs of heat exhaustion include:<\/p>\n

\n\tDizziness
\n\tNausea
\n\tIntense fatigue
\n\tThirst
\n\tDark urine

Heat stroke is a medical emergency. Call 9-1-1 immediately if someone experiences:<\/p>\n
\n\tHot, red skin
\n\tConfusion
\n\tLoss of consciousness
\n\tSevere dizziness or nausea

While waiting for emergency responders, move the person to a cool place, remove excess clothing, and cool them with water or ice packs.<\/p>\n
