The signage does not indicate when the store, located at 1445 St. Matthews Ave., will close for good.<\/p>\n<p>A store manager declined to comment on Monday, directing a reporter to Toys \u201cR\u201d Us Canada Ltd.\u2019s head office. The Canada-wide company has been in creditor protection since February.<\/p>\n<p>Last month, Toys \u201cR\u201d Us announced its Transcona-area store at 1560 Regent Ave. W. is closing. The Transcona and Polo Park stores opened in the fall of 1989.<\/p>\n<p>Stella\u2019s planning caf\u00e9 near Portage, Main <\/p>\n<p>Winnipeg restaurant chain Stella\u2019s is planning to open a caf\u00e9 at 330 Main St., this fall.<\/p>\n<p>\n\t\tWinnipeg Free Press | Newsletter\n\t<\/p>\n<p>\t\t\t\t\t<img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/ca\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/05\/newslettericons-business.jpg\" alt=\"Sign up for Business Weekly\"\/><\/p>\n<p>Located near the iconic Portage Avenue and Main Street intersection, in the same building as GoodLife Fitness, the caf\u00e9 will focus on grab-and-go items such as paninis, focaccia pizza, sandwiches, salads and freshly baked goods.<\/p>\n<p>The 1,100-square-foot caf\u00e9 will have 30 seats and employ 12 to 15 people, said Rob Del Grosso, vice-president of operations. Stella\u2019s expects to get possession of the space on Sept. 1 and plans to open in November.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWe\u2019re excited,\u201d Del Grosso said. \u201cWe\u2019re continuing to grow and there\u2019s been significant interest in the Stella\u2019s Caf\u00e9 concept.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>It\u2019s the chain\u2019s fourth caf\u00e9.
