We recently had the pleasure of chatting with Vancouver-born actress Cobie Smulders (How I Met Your Mother,\u00a0The Avengers)\u00a0about some of her favourite spots in and around the city, and one Vancouver restaurant was at the top of her list: The Mackenzie Room.<\/p>\n
\u201cI will shout to the mountains, to the top of Grouse Mountain, my love of The Mackenzie Room,\u201d Smulders told Dished. \u201cIt\u2019s my favourite restaurant in Vancouver.\u201d<\/p>\n
Smulders also added that the restaurant was started by a friend of hers from high school, and every time she\u2019s in Vancouver, she makes sure to go.<\/p>\n
\u201c[When I\u2019m in Vancouver] I have to stop by, and if I\u2019m not able to, it\u2019s really disappointing,\u201d added Smulders.<\/p>\n
The Mackenzie Room first opened its doors in 2015 and has become renowned for its casual fine dining. It\u2019s also been a Michelin Guide-recommended restaurant ever since the restaurant guide made its debut in the city back in 2022.<\/p>\n
The restaurant is best known for its selection of tasting menus, including its \u201cRiding Solo<\/a>\u201d option, which offers a five-course tasting menu for solo diners.<\/p>\n \u201cThey\u2019re just the best, and it\u2019s a really delicious meal. I love that place, and anytime anyone asks for recommendations, it\u2019s at the top of my list,\u201d said Smulders.<\/p>\n This isn\u2019t the first time that Smulders has shouted out the Vancouver restaurant. In 2024<\/a>, Smulders shouted out the restaurant, saying, \u201cIt\u2019s my favourite restaurant, maybe in the world.\u201d<\/p>\n She\u2019s also shared love for Hobbs Pickles and Vancouver\u2019s patio scene, alongside Please! Beverage Co.<\/p>\n \u201cPlease is a big go-to for me. I just really love their drinks, and I really love everybody involved.
