Just shy of 450 puzzle solvers in Brampton and Hong Kong have set a new Guinness World Record for the most people to solve a Rubik\u2019s Cube blindfolded at the same time.<\/p>\n
The record-breaking events were held on July 11 and organized by Enabled Talent, an inclusive employment platform founded in Brampton, and saw 449 participants tackle a rotating tactile puzzle cube \u2013 a version of the popular Rubik\u2019s Cube puzzle.<\/p>\n
The cubes are an accessible version of the classic three-by-three puzzle that replaces visual colors with raised textures, and many of the puzzlers were blind or visually impaired. Puzzle solvers relied on touch, spatial reasoning, concentration and memory to solve the cube, creating a powerful shared experience across ages, backgrounds and abilities, Enabled Talent says of the event.<\/p>\n
All participants were blindfolded, and the tandem events showcased how \u201chuman potential has no limits when barriers are removed,\u201d said Founder and CEO of Enabled Talent Amandipp Singh.<\/p>\n
\u201cIts greatest legacy will not be measured only by the record, but by the confidence it built, the connections it created and the opportunities it opened for people of all abilities to participate and succeed,\u201d Singh said in a release.<\/p>\n
Enabled Talent says removing sight from the challenge \u201coffered a new perspective on accessibility\u201d and showcased how inclusive design can expand participation.<\/p>\n
The most people solving rotating tactile puzzle cubes (multiple venues) is 398 and was achieved by Keenly Business Consulting Limited (China) and Inclusive Momentum Inc. (Canada) in Hong Kong SAR, China and Brampton, Ontario, Canada, on 6 July 2024.<\/p>\n
Enabled Talent helped set the previous record for Most People Solving a Rotating Tactile Puzzle Cube at Multiple Venues in 2024, with 398 participants across two continents.<\/p>\n
