EERIE HIKE: A woman was hiking through a trail in Colorado when she noticed two moose following her last week, before she nervously ran ahead of the giant animals.<\/p>\n

BRECKENRIDGE, Colo. \u2013 A beautiful day outdoors for a hiker in Colorado quickly turned into something unusual after a moose continuously stalked the individual.<\/p>\n

A Colorado hiker, Amy Hotchkiss, was walking the Snowflake Trail in Breckenridge<\/a>, Colorado<\/a>, last Tuesday, as the trail offers beautiful mountain views, shaded pine trees, and seasonal wildflowers to explore.<\/p>\n

While traveling<\/a> about a half mile along the trail, Hotchkiss encountered two moose.<\/p>\n

What started as a pleasant surprise quickly turned into a moment of fear as the large animals increased their speed and drew closer to Hotchkiss.<\/p>\n

“I was excited and thought it was so cool at first\u2026 until the moose started moving in,” Hotchkiss told Storyful News.<\/p>\n

A video shared by Hotchkiss shows her nervously walking along the trail before the two moose get closer, prompting her to run farther ahead of them wisely.<\/p>\n

Thankfully, the two moose turned away from the trail and continued their own adventure through the wilderness as Hotchkiss recorded them frolicking away.<\/p>\n

Moose are not normally aggressive, but can be if harassed by people, dogs and traffic, or when hungry and tired.<\/p>\n

In the late spring<\/a> and summer<\/a>, cow moose with young calves are very protective and will attack humans who come too close, according to the Alaska<\/a> Department of Fish and Game.<\/p>\n

A signal that a moose might attack would be when the long hairs on its hump are raised, its ears laid back (similar to a dog or cat) and it may lick its lips.<\/p>\n
