{"id":802623,"date":"2026-07-15T02:43:10","date_gmt":"2026-07-15T02:43:10","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/ca\/802623\/"},"modified":"2026-07-15T02:43:10","modified_gmt":"2026-07-15T02:43:10","slug":"brampton-man-31-accused-of-trafficking-a-child-for-sexual-services","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/ca\/802623\/","title":{"rendered":"Brampton man, 31, accused of trafficking a child for sexual services"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>A Brampton man is facing a slew of charges in connection with an ongoing human trafficking investigation in the City of Vaughan.<\/p>\n<p>Earlier this month, detectives say they spotted a victim at a hotel in the area of Applewood Crescent and Portage Parkway who they believed to be a child in need of protection.<\/p>\n<p>Investigators later determined that the victim, who was under the age of 18, was being trafficked for sexual services.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThe suspect had taken photographs of the victim and used them in online advertisements promoting sexual services,\u201d York Regional Police wrote in a press release shared Tuesday.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThe suspect controlled the advertisements, arranged appointments with clients on the victim\u2019s behalf, received proceeds from the exploitation, and transported the victim to locations in multiple jurisdictions,\u201d investigators added.<\/p>\n<p>On Tuesday, authorities announced the arrest of 31-year-old Mark Brown of Brampton.
