A North York man who bought a lottery ticket in Brampton has won big.<\/p>\n
Monday\u00a0Okpeseyi won a Daily Keno 9 Pick prize of $100,000 with a ticket in the June 4 evening draw.<\/p>\n
\u201cI like to pick my own numbers when it comes to Daily Keno,\u201d he said in an Ontario Lottery and Gaming Corp. news release.<\/p>\n
The rideshare driver and mathematics professor discovered his big win at a gas station when he scanned his ticket on the ticket checker.<\/p>\n
He said he couldn\u2019t believe it when he saw the prize amount displayed.<\/p>\n
\u201cI was so happy and shocked,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n
Okpeseyi then\u00a0called his partner to share the news.<\/p>\n
\u201cI asked her to check the winning numbers on OLG.ca<\/a>. She read them aloud to me and I told her I had good news \u2014 I won! She was so excited and happy for me, and she let out a joyous scream,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n Okpeseyi\u00a0plans to put his winnings toward bills, his daughter\u2019s education, and investing for the future.<\/p>\n \u201cIt\u2019s a good feeling to win,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n
