As reported by SPORT<\/a>, FC Barcelona are keeping a close eye on developments surrounding former academy winger Estanis Pedrola, who is attracting significant interest after an impressive loan spell at UD Las Palmas during the second half of last season.<\/p>\n

The Catalan club\u2019s long-term strategy of including sell-on clauses when academy graduates leave has already generated substantial income in recent years. <\/p>\n

Players such as Jean-Clair Todibo, Nico Gonzalez, Ilaix Moriba, Alex Collado, Ludovit Reis and Ferran Jutgla have all produced financial returns through future transfer percentages.<\/p>\n

Barcelona still retain similar clauses on several former players<\/a> across Europe. <\/p>\n

They own 40% of any future transfer fee involving Jan Virgili, 20% of Sergi Dominguez\u2019s next sale, a smaller percentage of Sergino Dest\u2019s rights and, notably, 50% of any future transfer involving Estanis Pedrola.<\/p>\n

A strong finish at Las Palmas<\/p>\n

Pedrola spent the second half of last season on loan at UD Las Palmas from Sampdoria, where he quickly became an important attacking option.<\/p>\n

His pace, direct running and ability to play on either wing gave the team a new dimension, earning praise for his impact as a game-changer. <\/p>\n

Comfortable with both feet and capable of creating and finishing chances, the former La Masia player showed the qualities of a modern, versatile winger. His performances have not gone unnoticed.<\/p>\n

Several clubs interested<\/p>\n

Although Pedrola remains under contract with Sampdoria, where he signed permanently in 2023 after triggering a purchase clause through appearances, a number of Segunda Division clubs are now exploring a move.<\/p>\n

The Italian side paid Barcelona \u20ac3 million for the winger, while the Catalan club secured a 50% sell-on clause and a \u20ac7 million buy-back option, which expired in 2025.<\/p>\n

Barcelona are therefore following the situation closely, knowing they could benefit financially from another transfer.<\/p>\n

Oviedo leading the race<\/p>\n

RCD Mallorca were strongly linked with Pedrola earlier in the summer, but their interest cooled after prioritising other wide players.<\/p>\n

Las Palmas also hoped to bring him back following his successful loan spell, but negotiations broke down after relations between the club and president Miguel Angel Ram\u00edrez deteriorated.<\/p>\n

That has opened the door for Real Oviedo, who are currently the club best positioned to complete the signing. Discussions are progressing well, although no final agreement has yet been reached.<\/p>\n

Should Pedrola complete a permanent move for a fee between \u20ac1 million and \u20ac1.5 million, Barcelona would receive half of the transfer income thanks to the sell-on agreement, with Sampdoria collecting the remaining 50%.<\/p>\n
