Just a couple of weeks ago, we got hit with the Android 17 QPR1 Beta 6 release<\/a>. This update was a pretty big deal, bringing platform stability and ensuring developers could make updates to their apps without fearing that it would break for the official release. Now, we’re getting QPR1 Beta 7<\/a>, bringing even more refinements ahead of the public release. <\/p>\n

We’re getting close to the finish line<\/p>\n

The update comes as build CP31.260623.005 for all compatible Pixel devices and brings a wealth of important changes<\/a>. Battery Share from the Quick Settings menu has now been fixed and should work as intended.<\/p>\n

In addition, the Wi-Fi button in the Quick Settings menu should now also be working properly. Previously, the button would leave a UI gap, which isn’t something you want to see when you’re navigating menus. And lastly, the font size controller is now stable, allowing users to make changes without any crashes in the Quick Settings menu. <\/p>\n

Although these aren’t huge advancements, we’re getting small refinements that are very necessary ahead of the final public release. You can check out the notes from the release below. This is taken verbatim from the Android Developers website<\/a>. <\/p>\n

If you’re interested in giving the new beta a try, you’ll want to sign up to be a part of the Android Beta Program<\/a>. So long as you have a Pixel 6 and newer, you will be able to participate and try out new software and features ahead of the general release. <\/p>\n

Although the new Pixels for this year won’t be running Android 17 QPR1 out of the gate, they will receive the update soon after release. We’re excited to see what Google has to offer for this year. The brand has shared that the event will take place in August, and we’re now even getting a teaser, showcasing the device’s new feature<\/a>.<\/p>\n

While Google hasn’t shared an official name for this feature, we’ve heard through leaks and rumors that it could be called Pixel Glow.
