On the heels of broadcast journalism being thwarted by way of President Trump<\/a>, IndieWire can announce that iconic Bob Woodward and Carl Bernstein<\/a> biopic<\/a> \u201cAll the President\u2019s Men\u201d will get a 2025 spin by way of more than a few Oscar winners. <\/p>\n

Robert Downey Jr.<\/a>,\u00a0Kenneth Lonergan<\/a>, Julianne Moore<\/a>, Mark Ruffalo<\/a>, J. Smith-Cameron<\/a>,\u00a0and\u00a0Ramy Youssef<\/a> will all participate in a one-night-only staged reading of\u00a0William Goldman\u2019s Academy Award-winning 1976 screenplay about the Watergate scandal that led to President Richard Nixon\u2019s resignation. John Benjamin Hickey will direct the reading, with additional stars will be announced in the coming weeks.\u00a0The cast will participate in a Q&A as well. The event will take place at the acclaimed Guild Hall in East Hampton, NY on\u00a0Monday, August 25\u00a0at 7:00 p.m. ET. <\/p>\n

The live \u201cAll the President\u2019s Men\u201d reading is presented by nonprofit arts and community The Center at West Park\u00a0(CWP),\u00a0which is based on Manhattan\u2019s Upper West Side. <\/p>\n

Tickets for the one night-only performance of \u201cAll the President\u2019s Men\u201d range from $1,000 to $10,000 and will be on sale here<\/a> beginning July 23. Tickets $5,000 and higher include an invitation to a post-performance garden reception at Guild Hall with cast members and the creative team. <\/p>\n

This isn\u2019t the only A-lister reading of \u201cAll the President\u2019s Men\u201d in the years of Trump\u2019s presidency: In 2018, former \u201cWest Wing\u201d stars<\/a> Bradley Whitford, Richard Schiff, Joshua Malina, and Ed Begley Jr. took part in a live reading of the film<\/a> at Los Angeles City Hall.\u00a0<\/p>\n

\u201cAll the President\u2019s Men\u201d was originally directed by Alan J. Pakula and starred Robert Redford and Dustin Hoffman. The feature was the second highest-grossing film behind\u00a0\u201cOne Flew Over The Cuckoo\u2019s Nest\u201d that year during its release. <\/p>\n

\u201cWest Wing\u201d creator Aaron Sorkin previously said<\/a> in 2010 that \u201cAll The President\u2019s Men\u201d made \u201cjournalists be rock stars\u201d onscreen, adding at the time, \u201cThere are members of the press that are trying like hell [to uphold good journalism standards]\u2026but they are getting drowned out by a populous that doesn\u2019t have time or energy to pull the good from the bad.\u201d<\/p>\n

The \u201cNewsroom\u201d creator added, \u201cPolitics have become even more polarizing than in the Nixon era.
